Let's look ahead at some of the events and programs happening at the library for October.

Upcoming events

On Tuesday, October 4th, from 3:30 PM until 4:15 PM. Read to a dog. Join Robert, Micah, and their human Sonya to practice your reading skills out loud. This program is being held in doors and therefore masks are required at all times.

On Saturday, October 8th, several open time slots are available throughout the day for Family Escape Room: Zombie Outbreak. A strange genetic mutation has led to a zombie outbreak. As the leading scientists in the field of gene editing, you are the world's last hope. Hurry. The outbreak is spreading. The world is counting on you. Good luck. Each timeframe is open to five players. Please note that if the adults plan on playing as well. Registration is required. If a grownup is not participating, please note that you must stay on the property for the duration of the program. Families with kids grades four and up are encouraged to participate

Also on October 8th, from three to 4:00 PM, Taiko Drums in our outdoor tent, join in a spectacular experience and interactive story and workshop. Learn about Taiko drums and the concept of music beat and movement. Taiko is an ancient Japanese form of percussion using very large drums.

In recognition of national Coming Out Day, come meet Dr. Eric Lella, an Osteopathic physician certified in family medicine and integrative medicine at this informational session to learn about the confidential accessible, nonjudgmental, and caring medical services available at the Stony Brook Southampton Edie Windsor Healthcare Center in Hampton bays. Since 1994, Stony Brook Southhampton Hospital's Edie Windsor Healthcare Center has specialized in providing outpatient care to the LGBTQ community and to persons living with HIV.

On Monday, October 17th, from 4:00 to 4:45 PM, join Miss Amanda for Not So Spooky Story Time. Stories, songs, and a whole lot of Halloween themed fun will be included in a short book based movie. Registration is required and it's open to kids in grades K through 6. Remember if a grownup is not participating, they must stay on the property for the duration of the program.
