Hello, and welcome to your introduction to using squad cast as a podcast guest, I'm Andrea Klunder producer and strategist at the creative imposter studios. And I'm going to be your producer for this podcast series. We are so excited that you're going to be joining us, and I just know that you're going to love your squad cast experience.
you should have already, or will be receiving soon an invitation to join your squad cast session via email. So let's hop over to my email and see if I have received just such an invitation.
here we are at, it looks like, yes. You're invited to join a recording session squad cast demo with Andrea. Fantastic. I'll click the email. And all I have to do is click this pink button in the email. Something to note is even though our appointment is scheduled for a particular time, you can actually click this join session button at any time to be taken to the squad cast green room.
Don't worry, you won't be jumping in on us in the middle of a session or anything like that. It's just a private area where you can check your microphone and camera settings and get a feel for squad cast before the actual time.
So here we are a few things to note. Number one, you want to make sure that you're using the Google Chrome browser on your computer squad cast, unfortunately does not currently work on mobile devices. It does not work in the Safari browser and other browsers have mixed results. So if possible, just use Chrome.
I'm going to click the pink request permission button to give a permission to Google Chrome, to use my camera and my microphone here, you will see some tips on how to record quality conversations
and one of those tips is keep focused on this browser tab. This is a good reminder to take this opportunity to close any unnecessary browser tabs windows applications at cetera. So that they're not hogging your computer's resources away from our recording session. Also, if you have a computer that has a do not disturb setting to silence notifications, that is amazing.
And if you have any programs that sync in the background, like for example, Dropbox, you're going to want to pause sinking for the duration of our conversation. Once you've checked all your tips, click the pink, got it.
Button. And this is going to take you to the squad cast green room. Don't worry. You won't be connected to us just yet. We can't hear you. We can't see you. This is a space for you to check your camera and to check that you're using the proper headphones and microphone. So for the microphone, you will see USB audio device.
This is because I've selected it already in my computer sound settings, which is recommended, but you should be able to click the drop-down carrot and see USB audio device as an option there. Also the same for headphones, USB audio device. and this is just using my built-in FaceTime HD camera from there.
